International success of Shkolla Digjitale and StarLabs, part of President Osmani's inspiring speech at the European Parliament

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, during her speech at the plenary session of the European Parliament, echoed the successes of both local companies, Shkolla Digjitale and StarLabs, which today operate beyond Kosovo's borders. Osmani highlighted the challenges faced by the co-founder of Shkolla Digjitale and StarLabs, Hana Qerimi, who was part of the representative delegation at the European Parliament, in developing her businesses while helping our society and country to be a regional leader as a technology hub.

President Osmani's historic speech at the European Parliament, which includes the inspiring story of Shkolla Digjitale and StarLabs: "And as I speak of a better future, I cannot help but think of Hana Qerimi, who is accompanying me on this visit. She is the co-founder of Digital School and StarLabs, which started as two small companies in our capital, Pristina, initially with only two employees – her and her husband. Today, their startups have grown and transformed into global brands with 500 locations worldwide. Like many other businesses in this sector, they are making Kosovo a regional leader as a technology hub. As the company's success began to cross borders and oceans, Hana had to overcome almost impossible challenges along the way. Due to difficult and bureaucratic processes, she would often miss the opportunity to enjoy her success and would also miss her future opportunity for business development, as her EU-issued visas would expire before she could travel. She had to apply and reapply several times a year. It is you, this Parliament, who for years have fought alongside us for the cause of visa liberalization for Kosovo. I want to thank each of you for your vocal support and for the most recent vote through which you gave Hana and other excellent and ambitious young people in my country the opportunity to thrive just like their peers across the European Union," President Osmani said among other things.

The mission of Shkolla Digjitale remains the training and education of children and young people in Information Technology and programming, with the aim of making them independent in any programming language they will need to use in their future, without barriers. Initially a successful company within Kosovo, today Shkolla Digjitale has become a franchise for the local and international market in over 500 locations worldwide.
